Billy Hobbs has lived in Lea County his entire life. He was born in Lovington, raised in Hobbs (graduated Hobbs High in 1979), and moved to Eunice in 1997 to work for Omega Treating Chemicals. He has spent most of those 21 plus years in Eunice doing some kind of public service from city councilor to his recent election of Mayor. Billy is married to Xan and has five children: Justin, Chelsea, Brett, Faith, and Hayden and five grandchildren: Jordyn, Jackson, Oliver, Jonah, and Zoey. He is an active member of Gr8terway Church, volunteers at Eunice Public Schools as an sports announcer and bookkeeper, and is active in bettering his community. He loves the Eunice Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Dodgers. His vision for the City of Eunice is that it not only remains a great little place to raise families, but that it gets even better and even stronger by everyone pulling together and helping his or her neighbors. His door at the city hall and his home are always open, and he is a phone call away at any time.
